I thought that it might be useful to explore how teachers might be using Blogging within different areas of the curriculum. This blog aims to draw to together a number of different blogs and provide a resources starting point. If anyone else comes across different examples then please add the link by commenting to this post

During the last question time session there were a number of comments made about blogging and a request was made for examples of blogging used within departments to be made available to everyone. There are now a number of departments/teachers within Haringey that are experimenting with blogging and I felt that it would be good to give TTP participants the opportunity to check up on their progress every now and again. I am creating a Blog Dev Blog and inviting each teacher to record there progress on this so that we have central place to record the development.
The list is as follows:
Sue Kambalu from St Thomas More School has set up an RE hub. The hub links to blogs for Yr7, Yr8, Yr9, GCSE RS, AS RS, A2 RS and a general blog on Theology and Imagination. Sue is currently experimenting with the Yr 8 pupils and has set them a number of tasks . Sue is writing about her exploits on her own blog and her comments are certainly worth reading.
Tessa Ware from Alexandra Park school is currently designing a blogging hub for A’Level English students to work on tasks during the Summer Holidays. I will put up the links as soon as I get them.
John Keohane, Head of Geography at Hornsey School for Girls, is currently working on a Blogging hub for the Geography department. I will link this in soon.
Roseilee, AST Maths at Northumberland Park School, is creating some Maths blogs to encourage students to participate in challenges and activities and to act as a forum for revision materials and question papers. Dare to be different and Trendsetter.
The CLC is also experimenting with students and blogs through our Work Experience programme. This blog has links to the enterprise companies blogs and the tasks that they were set. We also hope to make links to the work that the students create.
I have also set up an example of using blogging to showcase a students work. This blog is for BTEC Performing Arts (Music) and would be a way of assessing students work and getting feedback from people outside of school as well.
The challenge is on to establish at least one blogging project in each school by September 2007. If there are any other staff out there who want to be involved then please contact me at the CLC. Please check out these blogs and comment on the posts as it can be very encouraging for the students.

This link was very useful covering ideas about Asfl and I found this one very challenging. What do you think? This blog, from down under, records a casestudy about using blogging and assessment and might provide a basis for a Haringey based research project.

I came across this video in Teacher Tube, the teachers version of You Tube and thought it needed a wider audience, so here goes… As it is a none standard site it won’t embed so here is the link. (I will contact the support forum in Edublogs to find out why teacher tube doesn’t embed and let you all know later.)
The teacher who created the presentation has her own blog at http://rachelboyd.blogspot.com/ and is worth looking at as she is experimenting with ICT and Blogging in New Zealand.

Blogging was included as a major component of the Haringey Transformation Teachers Programme. As the participants have gained confidence in using blogs a number have begun to ask the question “Can blogging be used within Assessment for Learning?”. This blog is to incorporate ideas around the subject and to gather the views in a central point. As part of my investigation I came across think link http://edu.blogs.com/edublogs/2006/06/assessment_is_f.html which is an introduction to the topic.
